Remembering my grandma, born Mildred Elsie Knoeller, 100 years ago today. A true live wire, quick to wit, funny as hell, more than a trifle vain, but a tomboy at heart. Didn’t drink but owned a bar. Claims to have had 13 boyfriends at once, walked 10 miles to school in the snow with no shoes (later debunked to be less than a mile) Was her 2nd husband’s engagement a ‘hot’ ring, as it were?
