And some more. I'm really happy about how the washbasin came out.

I’m still doing the additional illustrations for my next stores book - I’m having a lot of fun doing these simple pencil and watercolor’s pictures as this is the illustrative style that I would like to get better at. I have to really control not to overdo these.

A sketch I did of a totally made up scene that I just got to scanning and editing properly. Just something I drew for my own satisfaction but it ended as an illustration in my upcoming book of essays on art-making. Watercolors and pencils.

A pencil and watercolors picture I did during a short break from my current work. I’m still working on my books but my goal for the near future is to get more comfortable with this loose, more illustrative and less realistic style. However balancing the pencil lines (which are delicate and not so black) with watercolors (which can be very intensive and overwhelming) is still proving to be quite difficult. #stillmanandbirn

started on the smaller illustrations for the upcoming storefronts book. This time I’m doing some scenes with people thanks to Kana’s help in designing them for me.

playing with drawing using just one ballpoint pen. This time Caran d’Ache bold refill - so far I think that really their Goliath refills are the best ones I tried (and I tried a lot!) @carandache

Another sketch of a building and a sakura I saw recently on one of our walks. I did this one as usual in my Stillman and Birn sketchbook and I only have ONE page left in it to fill! Exciting! Currently I am spending most of my time going through the Japanese translated version of my upcoming book and fixing all the things that need fixing but I’ll be getting back to drawing soon I think 👍

Next picture from my sketchbook of local interesting places which will end up later in the Jindaiji sketchbook digital book update (on my Gumroad) . This one was a bit of an experiment because I wanted to try if I can do depth using two different types of paint. The stuff in front was done with just regular watercolors so the black lines are more visible and the things in the back were done with Inktense paints which are more white and milky so the black lines are less pronounced. It went quite ok in this picture I think. #inktense #japanart
