I met a sweet woman named Nan in Oakland who told me to go to Lacis after sharing about my love of Victorian baby clothes. I walked in and nearly started crying, truly a Meg dream. Boxes on boxes of lace fragments and textiles. Julie spent two hours with me going through boxes of baby clothes, showing me how to use a Victorian bib holder, and we talked about our love for cats until closing time. I left with so many treasures, and found a perfect nightdress with a slit along one side that is perfectly designed for breastfeeding. I may need to drive back again before going home. I’m glad I’ll have this special little chunk of time to hold onto before our baby is born. 🤍
