Every yarn I use to knit with is dead-stock*: *Dead-stock = left over stock which has not been used or sold and has therefore become excess material, AKA waste. Waste which is actually in perfect condition (and beautiful) but unless used it will be wasted. Dead-stock materials are not easily reabsorbed by the fashion industry because they are often found in limited quantities and colours. Unfortunately big brands are still overproducing and creating waste. Fortunately for me, I like playing with colours and materials.
