✨ From Garage Dreams to Parker Thatch: A Journey of Grit and Gratitude ✨
In the early 2000s, Matt and I embarked on a journey fueled by passion and a little bit of crazy. Our first venture, iomoi (a name that left many tongue-tied!), was all about e-stationery in a world where everything online was free. 😅 Talk about an uphill battle!
We were close to throwing in the towel and heading back to the corporate world, but something inside us said, “Keep going!” 💪 We pivoted, transforming those digital designs into beautiful, custom stationery and home goods, all crafted with love in our garage. We were the printing department, the packing crew, the shipping squad – all rolled into one! 📦
Then, in 2009, magic happened! ✨ Matt discovered how to print on heavy cotton, and the first iomoi tote bag was born. I sketched the design, and our amazing dry cleaner (who also happened to be a talented seamstress!) helped bring it to life. 🧵 We even snagged the canvas from Joann Fabrics with our trusty 50% off coupons! 😜
That bag, the MIMI, became a symbol of our perseverance. And with the help of our incredible friends Andy and Katy Spade, we found the perfect name for our growing dream: Parker Thatch, inspired by our two amazing children. ❤️
To our incredible Parker Thatch family – YOU are the reason we’re here. Your support, your kindness, your love for our products... it means everything. Thank you for being on this incredible journey with us. 🙏
Parker Thatch is more than just a brand; it’s a testament to grit, courage, and the unwavering belief that “ONWARD” is always the best way forward. Our incredible team in Orinda and beyond is small but mighty, and with you by our side, 2025 is going to be extraordinary! ✨
