And the four weeks I’ve been welding and hand sewing have been just as fun. Huge thank you to the wonderful friends, collectors, curators and supporters who’ve been so kind with your words and support. Especially big thank you to those behind the scenes, without whom this wouldn’t be possible - everyone at the RA - Sinta, Candy, Bronte, Angelica, Max, Pete and every art handler and staff member, and of course Adam for the help sewing. Thank you David and Caroline for being such amazing souls, every event has been gorgeous❤️ The show opens properly on the 13th June and I hope you’ll go along and enjoy it. The whole show feels incredibly human and egalitarian and it’s a huge privilege to be a part of it #richardmalone #royalacademyofarts

a chairs journey 🪡 finished this little blob a few weeks ago. took a lot of carving, building, prep and endless hand sewing. It went on a little journey between London and Wexford and Dublin too, like the sail and rail the whole thing is held together with tiny hand sewn stitches and good will, and I’m afraid I can only make one at a time as they are really all consuming thanks to @dccireland and @aisfarinella for showing this piece during design week at the Royal Irish Academy of Music @riamdublin amongst very lovely surroundings and people I’ll have another on display next year in Antwerp but more on that in 25 #richardmalone #chair #sculpture #sewing

The auction is open now and features over 200 works by leading artists internationally. Please bid on something or donate if you can, and spread the word. The show is open at 14 Wharf Road N1 7RW this weekend and next weekend There are beautiful contributions upstairs by @forensicarchitecture @palmuseum @majazzproject @themosaicrooms including a public reading room, displays on collective histories and disturbing colonial legacies, human stories around ecology, music, dance and folklore. It’s very moving and it’s free, so please swing by and spend some time there Last night we heard from those who have been working on the ground in Gaza, stories that are horrific and terrifying and also heroic and hopeful. Nurses and doctors are trying to work under the constant bombardment by Israeli forces, moving severely injured and traumatised children to safety during drone strikes where hospital windows shatter and supplies continue to deplete. The work that MSF are doing is critical, under unimaginable circumstances that continue to worsen. This work is invaluable in the present moment but will continue to be essential for decades to come. thank you to those who made heartfelt speeches last night. Our politicians are failing us and the people of Palestine significantly, the world feels like hell fire at the minute and often hopeless. However, seeing the work of those at MSF despite such adversity is evidence of humanity at its finest. Support it if you can. some works on view for Frieze in Antigone Revisited 🧤 a very gorgeous and thoughtful show curated by @marcelle.joseph at @hyphastudios Unit 3, Euston Tower, 286 Euston Road, London NW1 3DP **Late Opening Tonight for Frieze West End night** I really love working with Marcelle and always appreciate the research and consideration in every show - a very big thank you and I’m only raging to miss the events and curator tours due to other commitments overseas these are performance vessels that can be manipulated to echo different gestures or emotional states, they sometimes looks very sad and they sometimes look quite argumentative, sometimes they look wrecked. they disguise distinctive identifiers and often look like they’re in dialogue. they’re also very funny to wear and stumble around in go and see it if you can, closes next week and the show is chocobloc with brilliant artists #richardmalone #frieze #sculpture

big enormous thanks to @unamullally for this gorgeous write up in this weekends @irishtimesnews a lovely book end to a show that’s meant an awful lot to me, a record of tenderness at @thedockarts hugely appreciated, I absolutely adore Una’s writing and I am indeed rightly obsessed with Enya (one of the truly excellent, singular and game changing artists) and also hiding big love ❤️
