@sundanceorg provides a platform to share what people make from the heart. When we got that call five years ago that @quarterlifepoetry would premiere at the festival, it was one of the happiest moments of my life. We bundled up, slipped through the ice, posted our own flyers, and finally got to share our work with an audience (Kevin Bacon sat four seats away and watched me take a huge shit on the big screen!). I'll forever be grateful to the festival and its organizers for raising up filmmakers and encouraging us to just be ourselves. Happy 40th, Sundance!
