He shares more on why the #sonyvenice2 was the right choice for the episode.“The Venice 2 was the perfect choice for Ep7 of Agatha all along as its versatility allowed us to utilize full frame lenses and capture wides of our set. The show utilized a lot of practical visual effects and thus the small profile of the Rialto module also allowed us to achieve some rigged shots and put the camera in tricky positions. The dual base ISO and full ND range provided us the quick ability to shoot high speed as well without having to re-light scenes. We caught up with Director of Photography Santiago Gonzalez @santiago_g3 , who was named by Variety as one of the top ten cinematographers to watch. Gonzalez shares more on his new film, Los Frikis, which recently debuted at Camerimage and shares why the #sonyvenice was the perfect tool for the film.With mostly natural light for day exteriors and small lights or practicals for night sequences, Gonzalez found an ally in the VENICE. Whether the team was shooting interiors in the countryside or in the streets of a city that stood in for Havana, the camera was never an obstacle to creativity."I had enough lights to light the scene but nothing to throw in the background to give us depth," Gonzalez explained. "I would try with smaller units, but I knew that I needed that dual ISO to make that happen.
