Finally sharing this here because some accounts have been posting it without my permission 👀 this moment shared with papa yang was truly the best - he practiced so hard and there were a lot of small details in this that were his idea (the shades… the very Korean dad thumbs up… THE ENDING?!?!🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️💀💀💀) undeniably the top dance performance of my life - I’ll cherish this forever 😭❤️‍🔥 Captured by @ak_solis @solfulstudios #fatherdaughterdance

My choreography is usually constructed through blending different parts/sounds of the music together based on what I gravitate towards. But for this, I wanted to put myself in a producer’s shoes and separate different musical groups (main vocals, beats, & background/adlibs) to compose a piece with separate moving parts, all working together cohesively. I was so close to canceling this shoot - self doubt and resistance were verrryyyy present during this process of investing in my work again. If you’ve been having trouble believing that your ideas are worth executing, this is your sign to just make that shit!!❤️‍🔥 it doesn’t always have to be that deep, you really CAN just create because you enjoy it, no matter the outcome. Here’s to more showing up for ourselves and more creating — not for the sake of releasing more final products, but for the sake of exploring what we have within us. We’re back!!! These choreographers have been hard at work creating pieces for their final showcase this weekend - for those who create, you already know how stressful this process can sometimes be, so if ya see your friend up here give them some words of encouragement this week! 🌉🙌

Wanted to highlight and show love to some dancers who’ve been helping me bring a lot of recent work tings to life! Finding out if we’re having a lil king or queen, and all I can say is that baby is so lucky to have @johnathanshay as their dad 🥹. The fact that I get to give life to another human who gets to experience the level of love, patience, and care that John gives to me fills me with so much joy - I couldn’t have dreamt up a better partner in all of this.❤️ a little past the halfway mark now and we’re so excited to meet you our little love!!!!!! 😭😭😭

A letter John wrote to me on the morning of our wedding day - we felt like this was the perfect way to share with the world that our family is growing 🥹 to our little one, we can’t wait to meet you, do our best to raise you to be a good human in this crazy world, and share and expand the love we have for each other with you. ❤️

so much work I’ve been sitting on over the last few years that I’ve been too self-critical to share, but as of late I feel compelled to share more of my staging :) this project meant everything to me and the process was a dream ❤️ WOMEN RULE. Standing with all my sisters. Forever!!
