strata cut chershire cat - Textures and Primitives - Cal Arts / sept 15 2022 Note - it turned into a psycho cat ... more kinetic electric than clearly super smiling crazy cat. this is for several reasons ... 1 - 3 hours to make not four days - yes it is sloppy to try so much in too short a time. and one cannot seam and smush enough small pieces into a well glued and constructed whole 2 - Cut up in fat un-even chunks. This knifing was by a well meaning audience volunteer. this can work for small credit card sized objects. this was three times that size, and required much more skill. Thin even slices would have made the time flow clearer ... this is almost double speed of my intended construction. 3 - Why? I was just too tired after 1.5 days of set up and 4 drenched hours of demo to put in another 2 hours. I got mentally lazy -- or I did my best, depending on my ability at this moment, which I allowed to overcome my better judgement. but we all learned something! The crowd of 90 students and faculty learned something, and it was a blast to see such love and appreciation. the result was a PSYCHO CAT, barely clear amid the shimmering electric strata cut cut cray cray. required much more skill.
