T.T I-A 02: Listening to the Voice of Artefacts  – The Applied Archaeology Garden Tomoko Sauvage is a Paris-based Japanese composer and artist. ‘Waterbowls’ is inspired by the traditional South Indian instrument ‘Jaltarang’, water-filled porcelain bowls into an aqueous electroacoustic instrument. By tuning and vibrating water and vessels, and magnifying the tiny, almost inaudible sound, inanimate objects are brought to life. As a performer, her role could be interpreted as a ‘gardener’ who controls the controllable, leaving the chance to unfold the rest. She has presented her performances, recordings, and installations internationally, especially across Europe, at venues and festivals such as Barbican Centre (UK), Palais de Tokyo (France), Haus der Kunst (Germany), Roskilde Festival (Denmark), Wonder Cabinet (Palestine), and Nyege Nyege Festival (Uganda). Her installation and video works have been exhibited at Sharjah Art Foundation (UAE), Portland Institute for Contemporary Art (USA), and Galerie Chantal Crousel (France). Born in Yokohama, Japan, Sauvage has been based in Paris since 2003. 「T.T I-A 02 応用考古学の庭」 立礼茶室 竹窓の然美  東京・草月会館 本展会場の2Fでは、京都・祇園の総合芸術空間「T.T」内にある立礼茶室「然美」と、草月流とのコラボレーションにより「竹窓の然美」として再構成されます。 「竹窓の然美」では、期間中、髙橋大雅の代表作である平面作品『陰翳礼讃』も公開いたします。 『陰翳礼讃』は、帆布を石膏に浸し、意図的に襞を寄せて陰影を作り出した原型から展開された作品シリーズです。 髙橋が手がけた立礼茶室「然美」では、竹から漏れ入るわずかな光のみが室内を照らし、壁面に貼り込まれた京都かみ添による黒い唐紙によって日本建築特有の美しい陰翳が際立ちます。 この陰影への美意識が、草月流三代目家元・勅使河原宏による1993年の「パリ大茶会」から得た着想と共鳴し、今回の「竹窓の然美」へと昇華されました。 本展では、竹、彫刻、空間が織り成す陰の深みに浸りながら、４種の日本茶と菓子のペアリングコースをご賞味いただけます。 「竹窓の然美」への入場は完全予約制となっております。 プロフィールのリンクよりご予約をいただけます。 [ 2F 竹窓の然美 ］ 期間：2024年12月22日 - 12月29日  営業時間：11:00 - 12:00 / 15:00 - 16:00 *23日15:00 - 16:00の回のみ *29日11:00 - 12:00の回のみ 会場：草月会館 東京都港区赤坂7-2-21 2F 完全予約制  T.T I-A 02: Listening to the Voice of Artefacts  – The Applied Archaeology Garden "Tea room Chikusou no Sabi Tokyo Sougetsu kaikan" On the second floor of the exhibition, Taiga Takahashi’s renowned two-dimensional work ‘In Praise of Shadows’ and the teahouse ‘Sabi’ from T.T’s integrated art space in Gion, Kyoto are reconstructed as  ‘The Tea Room, Chikusou no Sabi,’ in collaboration with Sogetsu. The In Praise of Shadows series arises from Takahashi’s innovative process, where plaster-dipped canvas is folded intentionally to create the intricate relationship between shade and surface. Meanwhile, Sabi highlights the subtle interplay of natural light and shadow intrinsic to Japanese architecture, with faint illumination filtering through small apertures and walls layered with black karakami paper, emphasizing the ephemeral beauty of shadow.    Visitors are invited to experience the profound connection between bamboo, light, and shadow, accompanied by a curated pairing of four types of Japanese tea and confections. T.T I-A 02: Listening to the Voice of Artefacts– The Applied Archaeology Garden A new exhibition by ‘T.T I-A’ (Taiga Takahashi Institution of Archeology), organised by ‘T.T’, takes place in Isamu Noguchi's iconic stone garden, Heaven in Sogetsu Plaza. Taiga Takahashi, founder of T.T, describes his practice as "Applied Archaeology",a method through which he discovers timeless beauty in antiques and vintage clothing, transforming them into expressions of art. This exhibition presents a dialogue between the historical and the contemporary, featuring vintage garments and antique artifacts collected by Takahashi alongside his sculptures and clothing inspired by these objects, all displayed in response to Noguchi’s evocative space. On the second floor, Takahashi’s renowned two-dimensional work 'In Praise of Shadows’ and the teahouse ‘Sabi’ from T.T’s integrated art space in Gion, Kyoto are reconstructed as ‘The Tea Room, Chikusou no Sabi,’ in collaboration with Sogetsu.
