Presenting the TWR SUPERCAT, my first ever production car based off the Jaguar XJS. 88 units, 5.6L Supercharged V12, 6 speed manual, 660bhp & a whole lot of attitude. It’s been a long two years working as Lead Designer on this project alongside design consultant @magnuswalker & the magical team over at @twrperformance. A massive thank you to everyone that’s helped make this happen, it’ll definitely be an either Love it or hate it thing and that’s alright with us! Forever grateful to have the opportunity to design something that I like to refer to as “elegantly aggressive” for a name like TWR. That 70s/80s, IMSA, Koenig & Lister design inspiration, with a bit of Xj220 thrown is was a pure joy for me, working alongside CFD & Aero specialist to make it all functional. Thank you to all my friends, family & the TWR team for the support, inspiration & motivation leading up to what has been the wildest month, from shooting with @topgear & @mark_scenemedia , to then flying the car to LA to launch it in the US, to having the car outside the @wynnlasvegas this weekend for F1! I’m beyond excited to announce that I’ve teamed up with Magnus @magnuswalker & @twrperformance designing an XJS built for the next generation of the British engineering & performance company, TWR! TWR built its name on both the racetrack & road, with iconic cars we all know and love like the XJ220, XJ-15 and my personal favourite, the TWR XJ-S. TWR founder, Tom Walkinshaw’s son, Fergus & the team will begin making a modern interpretation of TWR with the iconic TWR XJS. I’ve always seen the XJS as the “unloved” one in a way, except to those select few, given it had some pretty big shoes to fill after Jaguars success with the E-type. So after receiving the call from Magnus & the TWR team, I could only jump at the opportunity! It was such a joy meeting our first SUPERCAT customers, showing them the car in person & configuring their spec with them! So much fun. It’s not a P1 but… Take a Hybrid McLaren for a week?! YAH, sure, ok! @mclarenauto offered me a new Artura Spyder to drive for a week during what seems to be permanent monsoon weather in the UK currently. So I of course said yes, yes please & thank you. 🤣😂 I didn’t know what to expect having a Hybrid McLaren to replace my GT86 and its daily driving duties, not to mention the 700PS it comes with 👀, but was relatively surprised being able to roll out of my road in electric mode, to then suddenly switch it into sport mode and have the engine boom into life. Felt like i was driving an LMP car at Le Mans! On the odd day we had decent weather, I was able to take the car into the Cotswolds and just genuinely enjoy taking photos of it, the green (not my chosen colour personally) actually leant itself rather nicely to the Cotswolds as a whole, and made for some rather cool photos (I think).
