Kleingärten (Schrebergärten) are coveted and scarce garden plots in Berlin, offering residents a chance to cultivate plants and craft tiny relaxing sanctuaries, all under the care of local associations. Within one of these close-knit communities, an actual gardener for retirement homes shaped his own vision of a “chill” space - term notably repurposed to imply a more hedonistic subtext -.
