First 1/2 of May on my new paper shoot

Something a little different for me to share; I’m working on getting back to myself and the things I love. One of which is art. I started this acrylic painting last year, in which I tried to manipulate acrylic to look like watercolor. I originally taped off the border so it would be a perfect rectangle, but the thinned paint ended up bleeding through and creating abstract lines. I then tried to outline it in a metallic copper which I absolutely hated, so I filled in all the remaining white instead which I also hated but has since grown on me. Then I decided to add a partial self portrait in charcoal on top, which I erased and restarted probably 15 times. A bunch of mistakes all come together to create something I actually really love. So here’s to rediscovering me 💕
