SAN FRANCISCO! ‘Where Are All the Gay Superheroes?’ is an official selection of Another Hole in the Head Film Festival. AHITH has a long history (21 years!) of celebrating genre cinema and we are honestly so excited to be a small part of its legacy.

WAATGS will screen as part of the superbly named Dark Rainbow block at 3pm, Sunday 15th December at the 4 Star Theatre in San Francisco. We have it on good authority the Charmed sisters will be in attendance.

Seriously, this block looks SO GOOD. I’ll be watching online but if you’re in SF, don’t miss it. Anyone reading this wants a free tickets, dm me and I’ll see what can be done.

THANK YOU @anotherholeinthehead - we’ve had our eyes on you from the start. It means so much not just to be selected, but curated as part of a block like this. Perfect way to close the year. 🖤

US premiere! 🇺🇸 ‘Where Are All the Gay Superheroes?’ has been selected by AfroComicCon 2024.

It’s a strange day. After any election, but especially this one, it feels important to do whatever we can to make the world a more thoughtful, tolerant place. I think that’s ultimately why many of us make films. As minority communities, we must stand together. So I’m grateful that festivals like AfroComicCon exist and I’m grateful to be part of it this year.

Also, shout out @imranxadams who plays our black gay superhero Meridian so powerfully in the film. I’m so excited his character is about to reach a whole new continent.

AfroComicCon screens TONIGHT in Oakland, California at the Grand Lake Theatre, starting 4:30pm local time. Our film is included in the final block of films, starting approx 8:45pm.

Thank you @afrocomiccon 🖤 I wish we could be there in person, but we are 100% with you in spirit.

Iris Prize 2024 was everything. We had the absolute honour of screening on opening night, meaning ‘Where Are All the Gay Superheroes?’ played to a sold out audience of 350 on one of the biggest screens in the UK.

Not only that, but Iris used a still from our film as one of its two focal images, featuring our heroes on their programme cover, mugs, and vertical banners lining the street outside the festival. To see our film in a cinema is already special; seeing it advertised on a banner outside the cinema is magic.

This was my first time attending Iris, and I was thoroughly inspired by the films I got to watch, including the very affecting Australian queer horror @intheroomwherehewaits

From listening to Kate Herron talk about pitching for Loki, to meeting the legend herself @heathersmallmpeople (who took time to talk to all the filmmakers on opening night), to watching as many features and shorts as I could - Iris was pure queer cinematic delight.

So many people to thank, but none more so than @johnberwyn who championed our film from the very beginning. Diolch yn fawr iawn, @irisprize 💜💛 We hope to be back again.

Great news - ‘Where Are All the Gay Superheroes?’ has been selected by BIFA-qualifying North East International Film Festival!

This marks the second film by myself (Tom) and DOP @carlpollard_dop to be selected by NEIFF, as our documentary ‘Love, Dad and Daddy’ won Best Short Documentary at the festival last year. We had a great time in 2023 and can’t wait to do it all again in Newcastle this November.

Screenings at NEIFF take place from 22-24 November. We’ll update this post when we have exact details for the screening.

Thank you NEIFF for selecting our film 🖤
