One might be surprised to learn that @emmalouisecorrin and @aarontaylorjohnson are not fans of horror. The two actors play a convincing Anna and Friedrich Harding, a deeply sensible and madly-in-love couple who are dragged into a living nightmare in Robert Eggers’s #Nosferatu. The film is a reimagining of the 1922 classic, which is sure to terrify and thrill fans of the genre who are eager to see an unrecognizable, prosthetics-laden Bill Skarsgård in the titular role of Count Orlok. “Sometimes, he just had the head and hands on with gray sweats,” Corrin laughs, confirming that the Swedish actor didn’t look half as scary in real life. Though admittedly the two aren’t good with horror, both actors were drawn to Nosferatu because of Eggers and his work. “His world-building is incredible. It’s really immersive, all of the detail he goes into,” Corrin marvels. Eggers would film up to 30 takes, letting each scene play for 10 minutes without yelling cut, and even went so far as to use 20 real rats for a scene. “They were biting … and everything!” @aarontaylorjohnson says in real alarm. “With this album, it’s the first time since I was a little girl that I got back to that beating heart,” @gracevanderwaal says of her forthcoming release. While the project is set to drop next year, the singer and actress isn’t in any rush to share her most vulnerable work. “I would rather not release it at all than half get the vision,” she explains. It’s clear that she’s unwilling to sacrifice any ounce of authenticity as she bears her soul through her music. Ever since VanderWaal stepped onto the America’s Got Talent stage at 12 years old and won the hearts of the show’s judges, fame is all she’s known. Being thrust into the spotlight during adolescence conditioned VanderWaal to prioritize networking over making friends simply for the sake of connection, and she’s now in the process of unlearning all that’s ever held her back. “Now, friendships are built off of me when I’m off and chill and authentic,” she says, making it known that her dedication to being genuine extends past her professional endeavors and into her relationships.
