Happy Opening to the creative, cast, and crew of @longwaydownmusical —it has been a true privilege to work and collaborate alongside an ensemble of kindhearted, immensely talented humans. Your offerings are deeply rooted in grace and humanity and my work is a reflection of that. As a kid I “used to swing on the monkey bars, took long walks in the park…” and you all make coming to work feel as though I am a kid again—able to think, feel, play, and be more. Thank you to the cast and director @kenmattm for exemplifying grace from the very beninging (iykyk). Thank you @khiyon94 and @dahlak_leon for writing fire songs for us to sing, rap and bop to. Your words hold weight. @vicmusoni THESE DANCE SEQUENCES!! I only wish I got to dance more. “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” — Neal Donald Walsch ___________ A year and a half ago I performed at Green Room 42 and judged tf out of myself. I was much too critical and concerned with perfection that I hadn’t posted the performance. You know that feeling when you’ve rehearsed something so much and it still doesn’t turn out how you practiced or as intended? Upon a recent rewatch and the work I’m doing in theater—I’ve been reminded that life is about growth—performance is about connection—singing is about expression. I had lost sight of the beauty of that moment—being able to engage with other singers and vocalists to express and entertain. What a beautiful experience it was and I’m glad I can see that again.
