Today, we grieve and extend our deepest condolences to the families and everyone affected by the tragic shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in our community, yesterday. We must support each other through grieving, and then make sense and question the conditions that contribute to the normalization of so many tragic losses across schools and communities in our nation. The healing path ahead for our community will need all of our compassion, empathy and courage. We ask for all of us to seek and offer support, as we move through this devastating experience within our community.

Our annual Holiday Party for residents was a joyous celebration filled with music, food, and fun activities! This event brought together our incredible community, and we couldn’t have done it without the amazing support of our partners! 💛 A very special THANK YOU to: - 🏛️ Madison Children’s Museum for providing their space as well as fun, interactive activities for the little ones. - 🍗 C and J BBQ for the delicious catering that everyone loved! - 🎅 Landis, for donning the Red Suit and making our party extra magical as Santa! 🎁 We also had an exciting raffle and door prizes that helped spread even more holiday cheer! This week, YWCA Madison staff and residents from our 101 building took a special trip to the Wisconsin State Capitol to see the Capitol Christmas Tree in all its holiday glory! 🌟 Our group enjoyed the beautiful decorations, and had fun taking group photos in front of the stunning tree. During this time of year at YWCA Madison, we continue to have such gratitude for our community, which includes participants, residents, staff, donors and community partners. A couple of Thursdays ago, our Singles Housing Coordinator organized a fall potluck for our 101 residents that had everyone feeling thankful and in community with one another. Special shout out and Thank you! to Marie’s Soul Food for the delicious donation of food and our residents that joined us. Between 35 to 40 of our residents were able to join us for a wonderful meal in some way or another!

When Cheyanne faced complications during her pregnancy, she feared homelessness.
