When we neglect those who are different, we tend to never consider how this affects them. Being rejected by society makes one feel extremely lonely, and to portray this in the song, I think it would be appropriate to use an anaphora in the chorus. The lyrics will be “No one mourns the Wicked/ No one cries ‘They won’t return’/ No one lays a lily on their grave.” Through the repetition of the words “No one,” I believe this anaphora will be effective in illustrating how rejecting someone leaves them completely and utterly alone. And because they are so alone and are never supported by anyone, they become unfamiliar with what love and kindness is like, and thus are only able to treat others the way they have been treated. If a person is only ever shown hate and resentment, how could they be expected to treat others any other way? I hope that emphasizing how rejection forces one into solitude will lead my audience to reflect on their own treatment of others in the past, and realize that showing kindness to others, despite what differences they may have, will in turn lead others to act the same way. #lonelylife #goldenrule #spreadlovenothate
