đThe power of connection đ
This week is Crohnâs and Colitis Awareness Week. When I was first diagnosed with Crohnâs Disease in my early 20s, I just sort of hoped it would go away. I didnât want to think about what was going on - or engage with it. Thereâs no cure for Inflammatory Bowel Disease, so Iâve got Crohnâs for life. Once I started to accept that, I wanted to reach out to other people living with Crohnâs and Colitis.
There are more than half a million of us in the UK. All living different lives and doing our own fantastic things in our own ways. But weâve got something really important in common, and we understand each other. Talking helps. Realising youâre not alone with this massive thing going on makes a huge difference.
Together with the charity
@crohnsandcolitisuk and my friend and fellow âCrohnieâ
@tomspeightmusic - we decided it was time to share our experiences. Maybe youâve just been diagnosed... Perhaps youâre worrying about your symptoms and youâre in denial like I was... You may be scared to vocalise whatâs going on - believe me, I know that can be tough - especially as a young man.
Whateverâs going on, please watch this video Tom and I made with
@mrcolitiscrohns @alijawadpowerlifter and
@thebookofman - it just might help you feel less alone. đˇ:
