K10B 🎈 a month ago today I shared a major part of my life story through the art that has transformed me into who I am today 🌱 video linked in bio :) At age 10 I entered the foster care system, soon aging out in the next year to come. I am proud of all I have learned and persevered through in the last 12 years and wanted to express those emotions in my senior thesis ✨ ‘K10B’ illustrates the difficulties within adulthood while channeling our inner child. The reality of youth in foster care means jumping from home to home, homelessness, abuse, and in some cases adoption — forcing kids to abandon their childhood. Throughout this work, we ride waves of disappointment, confusion, independence, and unity. The balloon acts as a symbol of containment, loss of control, and the celebration of life.
