I am so so so happy and honored to be a @newmusicusa Creator Fund awardee this year! This grant will support a new project, TAROT, for cello and electronics, led by myself and cellist Gabriel Cabezas (@starbuckcello ). This collaboration will merge Louisville’s genderqueer community with Tarot readers, including audio stories from genderqueer individuals. I am so excited to explore the intersection of music, storytelling, and gender dynamics through the visual inspiration of Tarot cards! 🔮🎻🌈 As someone who is still untangling the complexities of genderqueer-ness, this project feels deeply personal. It is so empowering to be in charge of what I want to compose, and to choose who I collaborate with. I couldn’t be more thrilled to work alongside my buddy Gabe, and to connect more deeply with my local queer community.
