It’s hard to put into words how important releasing this album is for me. A big milestone in my life, following my vision 100%, trusting my gut, and feeling comfortable being my true self. One of the hardest most rewarding things I’ve ever done. Some of these songs started a few years ago, as small ideas at a point in my life where I was not trying to write or record an album and was happy keeping them to myself. Small fragments of what could be, that were just for me to hear. Momentary Presence is about finding stillness among chaos. Finding a moment when everything feels like it’s moving too fast, when everything feels uncertain and anxious. Taking a moment to feel still even if just for a moment. Those little ideas I kept to myself, were my way of finding stillness. When we started GIFT, the goal was to create a space where everyone could be creative and forget the pressures of our everyday lives. Sharing the present. That still stays true today and I can’t be more proud of the hard work and dedication Jessica, Kallan, Justin, Cooper and myself have put into this project. I’m so incredibly excited to finally release Momentary Presence in the world.
