GIFT 2nd record Illuminator is out today. 2 years of working harder than I even knew possible. In July of last year I fully dedicated myself to music and gave myself the time and space to work on music everyday. For 4 months I only worked on music, in my tiny 8x8 foot home studio, which was the first time I have ever given myself that space to do so. If you didn’t see me last summer, this is why. I was starting on the album at 11am and going until sometimes 5am straight, existing only off Cinnamon Toast Crunch and coconut water. The band would poke fun at me, for obsessively saying “I’ve been working on the album” which is a joke we still make today. In reality it was all I was doing and was doing what I love. I wanted to make the best album I possibly could, and worked tirelessly until I got there. I wanted to make the most honest I ever had, and record how I was feeling at the time, and Illuminator feels like the most honest representation of that time in my life. I couldn’t do this without my best friends and bandmates @whataredogs @solasterdusk @j_hrabovsky @twenty._.two NYC we are celebrating with our biggest show to date on September 20th @boweryballroom I would love to see everyone there. For everyone else I’ll see you on tour starting September 13. <3

It’s hard to put into words how important releasing this album is for me. A big milestone in my life, following my vision 100%, trusting my gut, and feeling comfortable being my true self. One of the hardest most rewarding things I’ve ever done. Some of these songs started a few years ago, as small ideas at a point in my life where I was not trying to write or record an album and was happy keeping them to myself. Small fragments of what could be, that were just for me to hear. Momentary Presence is about finding stillness among chaos. Finding a moment when everything feels like it’s moving too fast, when everything feels uncertain and anxious. Taking a moment to feel still even if just for a moment. Those little ideas I kept to myself, were my way of finding stillness. When we started GIFT, the goal was to create a space where everyone could be creative and forget the pressures of our everyday lives. Sharing the present. That still stays true today and I can’t be more proud of the hard work and dedication Jessica, Kallan, Justin, Cooper and myself have put into this project. I’m so incredibly excited to finally release Momentary Presence in the world.
