SO proud of my former @nytopinion colleagues at this moment. As someone who worked for 11 years at @nytimes in both the news and opinion depts, I am personally rocked by the decisions of the LAT and WaPo to not endorse a candidate at the 11th hour. I know something how news institutions work. If they had announced six months ago they would not endorse a candidate that would be one thing. But to do it on the same day less than two weeks before an election is mind blowing and speaks to dark forces at play. The interests of the public are being trampled by those of billionaires who own these institutions. (Aside: Now is the time for publicly funded media!!) As our country hangs in the balance, I dread the outcome of this election and know those who will suffer the most will be those among us with the least resources and power.
