On Thanksgiving eve, I’m fondly reminiscing about Alex and KC’s wedding that began our 2024 season. During the planning journey, I met with Alex and KC in NYC for dinner at one of their favorite restaurants in Greenwich Village to deliver their design plan. Over a shared family-style meal and Olive Branch martinis, we went through the design, page by page. And it became very evident their love for the art of gathering, and their intention to create a shared dining experience with their loved ones that they would cherish forever. The entire principle of it was something I very deeply shared with them. Alex expressed her love and the heart behind a beautifully and thoughtfully prepared meal. One that was meaningful, warm and inviting. From pale blue draping to make @wequassett feel that much more intimate, to candlelight and mini cane dining lamps, a unique floor plan that promoted conversation, personalized notes for every single guest, lobster bisque (because how perfectly fitting for Cape Cod, right?), seashell knife rests because those little details make Alex’s heart happy, to our own version of Olive Branch martinis… Every facet of this reception design intentionally created a space with a deep sense of belonging - for their guests, but also for Alex and KC themselves. On Thanksgiving we hope you immerse yourself in your gatherings, wherever you are and however you choose to celebrate.
