Why rehouse a vintage lens? The rehousing improves optical alignment nearly impossible to achieve in many original, vintage housings. This centering of the optics allows for a higher and more symmetrical resolution across the image. The rehoused lenses also no longer bind up when adding a clip on mattebox and no longer telescope when changing focus. Additional improvements include a non-linear cam focus system, evenly distributing focus marks and giving greater accuracy for focus pulling at longer distances.
CSLA is home to a wide selection of both vintage and modern optics. Expertly evaluated and maintained by our in-house tech team.
