Earlier this year,
@kikokostadinov inaugurated its first permanent store in Tokyo’s Shibuya District. Last night —on November 22, the brand opens the doors of their American flagship.
Located in Los Angeles’ Melrose Hill gallery district, the store is a continuation of the visual and conceptual language developed for Tokyo by the artist
@ryantrecartin. Once again, the artist will present a visual narrative unveiled in two parts. The project’s first iteration will exist as a production proxy where the artist will present material explorations and spatial studies that echo the “in production” phase of set building – “the default environments of a building space” pre-realization of the piece. Photorealistic rendering plans (created with long-time collaborator Rhett LaRue), material placeholders, “used” scaffolding, and other construction gestures combine to create a “draft setting” – a store in the render queue.
@bof @leitakanashi exclusively announces the store opening.
