Located in the heart of Soho and Chinatown, TELFAR’s flagship launches with the intent of bringing a completely new and transformative shopping experience to New York City, and re-energize the city’s fashion retail landscape in the process.

Located in Los Angeles’ Melrose Hill gallery district, the @kikokostadinovlosangeles store is a continuation of the visual and conceptual language developed for Tokyo by the artist Ryan Trecartin. Once again, the artist will present a visual narrative unveiled in two parts. The project’s first iteration will exist as a production proxy where the artist will present material explorations and spatial studies that echo the “in production” phase of set building – “the default environments of a building space” pre-realization of the piece. Photorealistic rendering plans (created with long-time collaborator Rhett LaRue), material placeholders, “used” scaffolding, and other construction gestures combine to create a “draft setting” – a store in the render queue.
A behind-the-production-scenes research and build aesthetic hints at what is to come. Viewers will have the opportunity to engage with phase one of the installation – Draft Settings – while Trecartin works with local Los Angeles-based artisans on the construction of the permanent installation set to follow Spring 2025. This process is in line with Trecartin’s community-based artistic practice where collaborators play a pivotal role in the realization of the artist’s projects. The final iteration of the space will evolve through this process, revealing itself as it develops, and will include film, objects, installation, and sculpture resulting in an atypical retail context that will reconfigure the space into a striking series of strangely familiar domestic environments. This distinct new destination will offer Kiko Kostadinov clothing, handbags, accessories, footwear collections, and special projects for both Menswear and Womenswear.

@telfarglobal - the boundary breaking black-owned, non-gendered fashion brand — is opening doors to its permanent flagship in New York City on November 23rd. TELFAR’s flagship launches with the intent of bringing a completely new and transformative shopping experience to New York City, and re-energize the city’s fashion retail landscape in the process.
Located on Canal and Broadway in the deeply nostalgic former location of O.M.G. jeans — and current epicenter of counterfeit bag sales (including our own) — the TELFAR STORE is an all-in bet that there is still a difference between fake and real.
The store: a home for a brand which has been a collaboration with millions of people. This space is a gift to them. It’s something they can use — a space where they can kick it — a space where they can create — built for more than just a financial exchange.
Here, Telfar appeared on @abcgma3 with Eva Pilgrim and DeMarco Morgan to announce the next chapter of TELFAR.
