Since our first collection, launched in autumn 2017, our women’s shoes have been crafted in collaboration with skilled partners (and close friends) in Civitanova Marche, a town on the Adriatic coast of central Italy. The region’s shoemaking heritage, dating back to the 1400s, continues today through a close-knit network of specialists – many of whom are still family-owned and work on a smaller, artisanal scale. From last makers to tanneries, heel and sole makers, and artisans crafting trims and hardware, every aspect of the process takes place within just a few kilometres. - The shoemaking process begins with the last – a wooden mould used to shape the shoe, precisely customised to each individual design. This foundational component is carefully made by the team at Formificio Enzo, founded in 1971, and the shoes are then brought to life in close collaboration between our designers and the Effemme factory, which has been combining traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques since its establishment in 1988.
