🗻 Join us for ‘Jean-Michel Basquiat. Engadin,’ opening tonight from 6 – 8 pm at our St. Moritz gallery.
This exhibition explores Basquiat’s connections to Switzerland, including his fascination with the Engadin region, which inspired works reflecting the Swiss Alpine landscape and culture.
After his first exhibition with
@galeriebrunobischofberger in 1982, Basquiat began incorporating influences from both New York City and Switzerland into his work—motifs like ski lifts, fir trees and mountains. His visits to Switzerland, particularly to Zurich and St. Moritz, allowed him to experience the contrast between the bustling energy of New York and the quiet, overwhelming beauty of the Engadin’s landscape.
Plan your visit at the link in bio.
