LOG vs Edited Video is CRAZY 🤯

Most people know when you take photos you should be taking them in RAW so that you can get as much data as possible and edit the photo to make it look how you remember the moment, but this is also how video is too!
When we record video on our camera, we shoot in LOG so that we can edit the video and preserve highlights and shadows in post production 🧑🏻💻
Here are the stops we take to capture and edit LOG footage 👇🏼
🎥 Record in LOG on Camera. Set ISO to 800 on most capable cameras
🎨 Download LOG to Rec.709 conversion file! Every camera has a different color space, so since we shoot in Canon CLOG3, we download that specific LUT (aka a preset for video)
🧑🏻💻 White Balance! After we convert the LOG to Rec.709, we adjust white balance, highlights, mid-tones, and shadows
🌈 Color Grade and Adjust Hues! This is my favorite part because you can make it look exactly like it did when you were visiting!
Once we finish the full color grade, we save this as a LUT and drag the adjustment layer over the project so that each clip gets the adjustments!
Do you ever color grade your content? 🧐
