It has been 1 year since filming the Mobilizing for Monuments Road Trip Film. Our storytelling and advocacy efforts helped expand Berryessa Snow Mountain and San Gabriel Mountains National Monuments, safeguarding over 100,000 acres of natural beauty and honoring the profound connection tribes have to these lands. A year on, SmugMug Films, Flickr, Rivian and The Conservation Alliance are still working to achieve permanent protections for the proposed Chuckwalla National Monument and exploring opportunities for permanent protections across the Dolores landscape. Had a fantastic time celebrating Día de los Muertos while here in Mexico City. Friday evening we had the honour of being part of the very traditional celebrations in Milpa Alta. Spending time with families and being welcomed into the homes of some truly special people. We also took time to check out the more modern Day of the Dead parade in downtown Mexico City. #mexicocity #dayofthedead #diadelosmuertos #cdmx

Happy Día de los Muertos. Excited to be spending this time here in Mexico City. Filming a project here and I am loving the city. One of the largest in the world. It’s hectic, noisy and non stop. Excited for tonight’s celebrations and to see what comes during the rest of the project.

So far, after just 30+ hrs in Mexico City, I can say that it truly has not disappointed. Excited for the weeks ahead here and the amazing people, culture and locations we will see along the way.

As summer in Scotland comes to an end we say goodbye to our friends the Lilies and welcome the Heather.

One of the coolest ways to get around @igiugigvillage Well cool for me, here it is just an another part of everyday life. Such a glorious evening. Cruising around watching this incredible sky at 11pm at night and capturing b-roll while @antonlorimer was out flying the drone and capturing the beauty of this landscape from the air. @smugmugfilms

Out early in the morning in @igiugigvillage to check the nets for salmon. At this time of year the salmon are beginning to return to the rivers and village life is gearing up for the busiest time of the year. Most of the men have left the village for the commercial fishing grounds already. The women of the village tend the nets and on this morning we only had two salmon but soon the nets will be full of hundreds of salmon and all the village will lend a hand to process and smoke fish to last through the winter.

An incredible sunset on our first evening in @igiugigvillage , Alaska. It has been such an honor to be welcomed to this village by the local community. It is a real privilege to film here and to help tell the story of why protecting these lands is vital to the way of life of the local Tribe.
