…and then there was a light around me ✨ closing out the year next friday with my sister @stuttersprite_, we’ll be going b2b all night at @metropolitan_bk, anyone who’s seen us together before knows the special energy we bring these last couple weeks in the aftermath of MIX have been a whirlwind, and i’m so excited for the changes that 2025 is going to bring. gonna be wrapping things up with @halo.333.nyc (and posting all the things from the archives that have gone unshared) in order to clear the way for some new projects… excited to see y’all next week come celebrate with us 🧡

MIX WEEK IS HERE 📺 After months of preparation and anticipation, it’s finally time to welcome the return of MIX, NYC’s longest-running queer film festival. We’ve got an incredible lineup of films, and in true MIX fashion we’ll be ending each night with a party, bringing together filmmakers, performers, and artists from across the community. Kicking things off on Thursday night will be a gathering at @juliusbarnyc in collaboration with Mattachine. After a successful first night of the festival, we’ll be celebrating the return of this NYC institution in the city’s oldest gay bar. Then, on Friday night we’ll be upstairs at @thestonewallinn bringing you multimedia drag performances from @sweatyeddie.tv, @klondyke_drag, and @esthernewyork. We’ll also have a silent auction featuring items from the MIX archives, with proceeds going to fund future iterations of the festival. Tickets available at the door. Finally, on Saturday night we’ll be finishing strong with an unforgettable finale party. Three floors of DJs, film screenings, installations, performances, and dark rooms. Pocket Party Zine - HALO Edition 📗 From Plush: What makes a good dance party? The magic behind a party like HALO makes for ecstatic dancefloors, deep connection, safer spaces, and higher love. We free ourselves in places like these because we’re so good at making them possible. I sincerely believe when Arts & Sciences come together then Magic is possible. This pocket zine was made by us for us, and is love letter to what we’re capable of. It’s hard to consider any one image a ‘highlight’ when you all shine so bright. That is why the zine is possible. From Aster: I’ve been a fan of Plush’s work for years, and I love their very specific and unique vision of queer bodies. Plush and I sat down for dinner to begin discussing the HALO project 9 months ago, and I’m so excited and grateful for this collaboration.
