Arturo Sandoval.

Today, I devised this sequence of 72 chords in 48 bars to practice. It's my first time trying it, and I know I must spend much more time getting familiar with it. Enjoy!

@arturo_sandoval_arocha on being an Honoree at the Medallion Ceremony.
“I’m going to tell you something. I get to the U.S. when I was 40 years old. Which I had tried to, what I mean with that is my English is still extremely limited. I cannot even get close to express what I really feel was worth. That’s the reason I decided to use the most beautiful art form, which is music. Music has no limit in terms of expression.
But I gotta tell you, out of all the emotional things for me... it was my beautiful son saying those things, that really broke my heart. I don’t know how I could play the trumpet because, you know (laughs).
But it’s such an honor, it’s a huge honor, the only thing I can promise is I never will let you down because you decide to honor me with such an incredible award and I’m always gonna try to represent the best that I could do in my capacity as a musician, educator.
And I would love to take this opportunity to thank God, because, you know, I owe everything in first place to God. And then my beautiful wife, my son, my daughter-in-law, all my dear friends, my best friend here with me, the guy who made the best cigars in the world, Mr. Carlos Fuente. Yeah, but I would love if you will allow me, I would love to real quick and leave a happy note, please join me and sing along with me.
(Plays “Oh When The Saints Go Marching In”)
Thank you. God bless America!”
