Woke up today with a big smile on my face. For years, I’ve struggled to live in the moment. I’m still working on that, but today, I’m doing my best to soak it all in. There’s so much joy in today. When asked for a piece of advice from my journey, my response is consistent: ‘Stay true to yourself.’ With this album, ‘What Now,’ I feel like I’ve done that, and I’m so proud of it. I’ve poured my heart and soul into everything – from the writing, to the recording, to the mixing, to the photos, to the packaging, and all the other crazy things you need to do to release music in 2024. None of this would have been possible without my amazing partner in crime in the studio, @pawnpawntbp. Shawn, you’re a very special human and genius at your craft. To all the incredible musicians who played on this album – #zaccockrell, @natesmithdrums, @bradallenwilliams, @iamlloydbuchanan, @no.s.t.r.e.s.s, @Rooreid, @annsensingsound, @rodmcgaha, @thomasblochmusic your musicianship took what these demos were and shaped them into what it is now. Honored to be featured on the cover of @nashvillescene’s Year in Music issue, right here in my current hometown! It’s been so special to reflect on ‘What Now’ as we near its one-year anniversary.
