Riding around Lower Manhattan and the west side highway on the back of a motorcycle, falling in the salty ocean, portraying love and loss on rustling sheets. Last year I had the absolute honor of acting in a film written and directed by @pablotapiapla, opposite of Britney Grasso. Without exaggeration, it was truly one of the most creatively fulfilling roles and experiences I’ve had to date in my career. The Sun Is In My Eyes just premiered at Morelia Film Festival this week, and will be screening there again on Thursday. When I first moved to New York City, there was always a part of me seeking something that seemed oddly difficult to find in a sea of diversity. I was seeking my generation of Vietnamese artists and creatives. Overtime, we started to find each other on the internet. In a funny way, this group shot depicts me with my eyes covered. It is almost metaphoric to the experience, playing a game of seeking when we were always with each other in plain sight. I’m so honored to be featured alongside 17 other brilliant Vietnamese creatives sharing their talents with the greatest city in the world and beyond. Artists, chefs, textile designers, photographers, coffee makers… the list goes on.
