1) Found this little lady (Puff Adder) on our front door step today. We have been seeing plenty snakes around the farm with the onset of summer. Mostly I don't worry about snake's and we leave them to go about their business. 2) But when I find one so close to the house I prefer to catch them 3) And relocate them- to somewhere not so close to our house😁 Really beautiful, but also very dangerous. Apparently yellow and black are nature's warning color's 🚧

Well that was one hell of an experience!!! A wise man once said - If you ain't winning, then you are learning!! I'll take that sentiment going forward and try to learn all the lessons from this week well!! It's been a great honour and pleasure to participate in this amazing event with so many amazing kneeboarders from around the world 🌍 (oh wait aren't all kneeboarders amazing 🤩??!) Thanks @_cinefx and @gigsytalk and everyone else who helped to pull this off - it's been an absolute bench mark for our sport ! As you may have realised I did not get the results I had hoped to achieve... But as a life experience it was more than I could have dreamed of! 1) The South African representatives at the opening ceremony 🇿🇦. 2) Surrounded by close friends and family, all week made this an even more special event. @veldandsea @publicshowsofaffection 3)Having a childhood hero (the one and only, Legendary Bodcat! 😼) To assist and coach us was epic! He was generally just there to support lend us his years of competition and water sport experience . 💪🏼🙏🏼🌊🙌🏼 4) Meeting my all time kneelo hero, aka the GOAT🐐, @simonsparrowfarrer As well as a few other heros!🙌🏼🙏🏼🌠 5)So stoked and proud to be part of this team! - Us after the team event!❤️🇿🇦The South African team support was absolutely outstanding - always there for each other 🙏🏼 6)@jedi_knees , won the senior division, such an inspiration always so professional and another well deserved win! @lestersweetman also won Grand Masters, @stevokneelocreations won the veterans, @stephencphotog also made us proud by winning his category too! 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼💥🔥🎉 7)SA holding our hardware. 8)Sooo stoked my best friend could come along and be there with me - we always have the best time together - especially when we can get away ❤️ Although I did not get as far as I'd hoped in the open division - I placed silver in Masters & chosen to compete in an elite group of the top 16 competitive kneelos from around the world - sort of like a kneeboarding "top 44" (what the heck!?!) Im so amped and excited to find out how it will all work! Im frothing!!!!!🤪 @stubbs_surfboards @783surf @komsurf_ #jbay #kneeloworlds2024

(1)Wow, it's time to get into competition mode! 👏💥🤙 (2 & 3) The local papers in Jbay are adding to the excitement - such a (daunting) honour to be the face of kneeboarding. Although I've had to spend 10 out of the last 15 weeks on land due to a knee injury (happened in late April). I'm trying not to put too much pressure on myself - I'm just going to take it for what it is and keep appreciating the special moments.! (4) A warm up event this weekend on the (wild) Westside!! Most importantly - I'm here to have fun and hang with all these luminaries of our sport! My goal is to honour and show appreciation to all the support from everyone along the road getting here! I intend giving it horns 🤟,doing my best🌊 and having a blast💥 with all these Legends!!!

Last Friday we got back from a great road trip, I have posted some of the plant pics but thought to add these ones of our trip. 1)Ah! school holidays - Love weskus road trips with my clan! 2)Long quiet dirt roads are always good to learn to drive - Tai burning some rubber and kicking up the dust!🚙💨. 3)Shooting some pool at the legendary "Ebb & Flow" Backpackers in the iconic surf town of Elands bay. Westcoast is the best coast! 4)) After a surf and some ocean time - everyone has a big smile on their dials 😁 5)The western cape is full of awesomeness - from epic waves to the most inspirational mountains - driving through the Cape fold mountains 🌄 🌼🪷🌿🏵️🌊🌀 5)Driving down another dusty lonesome road somewhere in the Little Karoo looking at plant's - kids are like "what the Hek!!🤷??? (are we there yet!!🙄) Was also super fun to watch @checkmyplants in action putting those tiny little succulent gems where they deserve to be - in the lime light🪄 (see my stories and follow the checkmyplants page! - totally inspiring) 7)Back home rains been falling hard with the continuing winter storms, the storms always bring us (and everyone else) a few fun trials, on the farm these relate to roads, houses and plant structures😅🤞we will see... However the rainy season is full of awesome edible mushrooms in the forests (pine rings or saffron milk caps 😋 yum) and Swell a plenty🌊!!! 8) But when it's this cold the best place to be is at the fire, with, with my GOOD Booi's. I know Swells out there when the wind calms down - today we are experiencing a level 8 Storm... Not sure exactly what that means - I presume we will find out🥸🏄??? Cape or storms - HOME! And last but by no means least Looking forward to hosting the Kneeboarding World here in August for the 2024 kneelo world Titles in Jbay South Africa!!! Hope these pics inspire some hunger for an African adventure 😃🤠

🏜️🌵🌸Mid winter road trip, every season offers hidden treasures in SA…so many special plant species in bloom at this time of year: 1. Conophytum pilosulum 2. Aloes at Ebb and Flow accommodation Ebay, Rubi counting the number of carriages on the west coast train 3. Gibbeaum heathii // baba boutjies 4. ⛰️In my element, surrounded by Karoo plants with the Langkloof in the distance 5. Crassula columnaris just finished flowering, a unique biannual desert succulent 6. 🪰Stapelia ~ will produce a foul smelling carrion flower after the rainy season 7. My precioussssss 🧟‍♂️ succulent heaven @capesucculentseeds 8. Karoo Gold 9. The powerful Sutherlandia fruitescens // kankerbossie 10. Trichodeodema- very hardy, grows from a corm and hides itself in rock cracks and crevasses as a form of protection.

Been thinking about this guy a lot this week, my Dad, always charging and fearless. An inspiration in heavy conditions not only to myself but to his peers as well, always calm under pressure. I was blessed to go on a few awesome Westcoast adventures with him and his mates when I was younger. Here are a few pics of him in his happy place!
