Next Sunday @queensbotanicalgarden, @cho.cho.choo and I will be leading a Duanwu/Dragon Boat Festival foraging walk and zongzi-making workshop featuring feral local plants. We will delve into the surprising ethnobotany of zongzi, and everyone will get to play with a wide array of FRESH leaves for wrapping - some are naturalized species from China and some are native to North America and have (probably) never been used as dumpling wrappers before! Even if you have a lot of experience making zongzi, this is sure to be a novel experience - @meadowsandmore is sourcing some wild stuff for us!! We will also have lots of yummy fillings and a big pot of boiling water so that we can cook and taste the results together! "DIMENSIONS - ART EXHIBITION" In order to create a more immersive and interactive version of this multi-disciplinary theater work, Passion Fruit Dance Company invites you to an art exhibition version of Dimensions. Dimensions is a piece centered around perception shifts and stimulating critical conversations through multimedia infused dance performance. Dimensions explores the idea of multiple dimensions through street/club dance, bodycasting, motion capture, projections, animation, live music, live painting, and photography. The artists explore physical, spiritual, and spatio-temporal intricacies. All of the artistic mediums used for this exhibition will not only be developed as part of the “Dimensions” art exhibition, but will also be used in the dance piece. This art exhibition will continually evolve over time and reflect the development of the theater work. It is a piece that encourages us to consider that there is more than what is perceived in a three-dimensional world. From wild to plate, the mountains gifted us so much more than food. Soaking in the mist of spring and listening to the sound of water flowing, I felt…alive. And this morning, a little magic happened. I woke up to the familiar sensation of my period flowing, something I hadn‘t experienced regularly for almost eight months. I knew that whatever had been stuck in my body, is going away. Flowing. Shifting. Regenerating. Thank you nature for showing me the way of life. And thank @jingtastic for showing me the way of foraging🍀🍃💚

I have been on an emotional rollacoaster in the past month, as the Coronavirus stired up all my friends and families in China. I wrote this article to tell a story about how Chinese people have been battling coronavirus from a personal perspective; I wanted to remind myself to always rememeber the anger, powerlessness, and hope I have felt in the past month; And I hope the suffering and ressilience of Wuhan people can be seen, empathsized, remembered, and always reflected upon.
