Recent interactions with old/new friends made me reflect back on when I first came to the US, all alone from Japan. I was young, ambitious, excited and anxious. While no country is perfect, I really appreciate America, for its vitality and equal opportunity to anyone who seeks to excel in entrepreneurship, regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity. Uniqueness / innovative ideas are valued, and hard work gets paid off. It might sound normal but it is actually not a norm in some other parts of the world. So better not take it for granted and start appreciating what we have. Fully aware that my achievements are trifle compared to many successful people, but I’m just grateful of what I have. I play music, people appreciate it and that’s my job - how fortunate is it?! Grateful also for the journey so far, I’ve met countless kind people who supported me, met super talented musicians & teachers who inspired and motivated me to keep going. I continue to meet amazing ones who teach me so many values.. The current state seems to remain the same as when I first came here: ambitious, excited and anxious (not so young anymore 😅..)
