The Satanic Rando has returned! We got a run of Evasions in last week, some in the ever-popular Matte Clear (a la the 2020 run), and some in Pastel Speckle’d Black. 🍆 The protagonist in this episode of where are they now is non other then @jdgesus I first meet JD in the very early days of Crust by good luck and coincidence. Maybe crust should be renamed to serendipity. He rode passed me while I was visiting Seattle and I noticed his bike, I did a quick U-turn and chased him down yelling like a lunatic I know your bike from the internet! Now JD keeps Crust on the Internet. We have had a lot of fun bike trips together over the years and hopefully we keep having them. Thanks for keeping us on the World Wide Web JD and happy birthday, we all love you. 🍆

The next character on the trip thru our sordid past is the one and only Goat. He was there in Nepal when it all started and has been helping out ever since, with all manner of things, from building our apartment in Richmond to marrying Cheech and I. There is nothing he can’t do. Photos 2 thru 6 are from our first trip to Taiwan, the whole trip was so outrageous. Way too much to talk about for a gram post. But as you can see we dressed up like businessmen and had so much fun with it. The thing that really blew my mind when we where there was how many people in the factories knew who goat was from the riding the spine trip he did. I had no idea I was traveling with such a bicycle celebrity. A true one of a kind. Oh that last photo is goats brothers shed that he made into a fake store so we could get a QBP account amongst others. 😂

Darren, aka The Dreamer or @larkin_cycles has been toiling behind the scenes on and off with Crust since day 0. He is the master mind behind the Clydesdale fork, which if memory serves me correctly was the first full production run of something we did. I know it took 12 months to sell the first one, which was pretty stressful. 😂 I meet Darren when I was on a bike tour passing through Santa Cruz, around 15 years ago, as he was playing a roll in making the farfarer trailers at the time ( @francescycles makes them now, they are good!) and I was always looking for better ways to carry my surfboard. I am not sure why Darren agreed to help me with drawings at the infancy of Crust but he did and for that I am thankful. I often wonder if I had not seen those trailers or meet Darren if Crust would exist. I have my doubts it would. So thanks for everything Darren. Oh the motorcycle Darren is riding in the vid is a diesel bike he made himself! 🤯🤯🤯

Turns out we missed the 10 year birthday of Crust. The idea to start Crust was hatched while on a bike tour in Nepal, (doesn’t bike touring sound way better then bike packing?) back in October 2014. Maybe it was the lack of oxygen at the high altitudes that made me think it would be a good idea to start a bike company, I am not sure, but the 10 years that followed have been a blur. So I figured the next week I will take a trip down memory lane and repost some of my favorite pics from the younger days of Crust, before we become the suit wearing multinational sell outs so many seem to think we are. 😂 Pic 1: The first post I did on this here gram page. Is it Cliff jumping a BMX? I don’t know. 2: Some high end hats I made. 3: Shit luck is still luck. 4: GOAT with his sample @larkin_cycles built scapegoat. Also made in 2014 I think and is what goat was riding on that Nepal trip. 5: Fuckin Will being Will. 6: @swiftindustries bags shining bright in, you guessed it, Nepal. 7: My bikes seem to want to lay on the ground a lot and so do I guess.
