Here’s a snippet of my recent performance at the @wsup_dancecomp in Changsha, China. It’s been on my mind for quite some time now to develop a one man theatrical show. I’ve had a concept that I’ve been wanting to explore about an artist who is too afraid to share his ideas with the world and this provided an opportunity to experiment a kind of proof of concept for the bigger picture. Putting this together was challenging in many ways. I have a long ways to go to reach where I want to take this story. But what I have learned through the process so far has been invaluable. I’m excited to move on to the next phase of this journey and finally begin to release these ideas to the world. I’m so grateful for all the love this performance has been receiving. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting this level of supportive feedback, especially as it expands beyond the community that has been following my journey. 🙏🏽 I’m looking forward to the next phase! 🎈 I wanted to share the story behind the second slide. The night before we left for China, I invited a group of close friends to do a test run. There’s a big difference between performing for an audience and performing for people you love and care about; it’s much more vulnerable. These friends know me better than anyone else, and I was pretty nervous since it had been a long time since they saw me perform in this way. I wanted to make them proud. It was also my first time running the entire show, where I actually popped all the balloons. It turned into a bit of a mess! I was missing balloons left and right, struggling to open boxes, and even lost my pen in the middle of it all. @krystalellsworth had to run out to find it and hand it to me so I could pop the next balloon. It really threw off my mental state, and I felt like I let everyone down, including myself. But that wasn’t even the worst part. At the end, I had one more chance to redeem myself with the last balloon. I thought, “I’m going to make this part so emotional that they’ll forget everything that just happened.” And then this happened! 🤦🏻‍♂️ (watch the second slide) I was so embarrassed! There was nothing else to do but laugh hahha We all chuckled together, and I was reminded that these are the people who love me the most—who have seen me through my darkest times and supported me through it all, celebrating my failures as much as my successes. ❤️ Turns out, as much as it was mess in my mind, they were all effected by it 🥹 That night, I was reminded that no matter what happens, it’s important to let go and allow your story to reach those who are meant to receive them. 🎈

Happy to finally share this. A couple years back I was asked to come onto the team of the film “Argyle” to help shape a sequence that incorporated action with dance. Here’s the version I put together. Such a fun experience working with an incredible stunt team. So stoked to have finally made a Music Video for one my best friends @maumaumaumusic it’s been a long time coming. I’ve been such a fan of his music for years and timing finally aligned with the right track “God Bless The Irony” a song about online dating. I did it for one week during a sad and depressing time. After a few matches with no responses I felt like a dummy and beat myself up about it 🤕 haha Then I thought 🤔💡😃 “Hey! that’s a great idea! Let’s do that! But make it literal!” Hope you enjoy Maumaumau put himself through the wringer and please go listen to all of his music!
