When her life begins crumbling apart, Kayla is forced to make peace with her past before it devours her completely. This character was definitely a journey filled with reflection. We grow the most in darkness. So glad to have been working with the best @youcancallmetyy and @jawanmfilms .

In honor of @whoraisedyoufilm winning an award for best screenplay at the Nantucket Film Festival @nantucketfilmfestival I wanted to share these stills from shooting. In Who Raised You?, an unyielding attachment to the partner he lost in the AIDS crisis of 1980s New York propels a young gay man to connect with his estranged family. I had the honor of playing Belinda, who navigates her own familial ties and grief from the loss of her brother, Raul. This script gave me the opportunity to feel immense empathy for the resiliency of the loved ones and communities impacted by the AIDS crisis in a way I never would have been able to before. This is why I love what I do. 💜

The tassel was worth the hassle. Grateful and proud to be a graduate from New York University, my dream school, with a BFA in Drama happy, college debt-free, and educated. These four years I’ve grown immensely as a human being and artist. I’m grateful for @stellaadler @atlanticactingschool @stonestreetstudios for all my training over these few years, to my loved ones for supporting me through everything, and to God for keeping me pushing through the hardest times. I’m excited to be embarking on the next leg of my journey as an actor, filmmaker, editor, and a teaching artist while pursuing my graduate degree in dramatic education. The best is yet to come.
