The @mothclub is an iconic venue in the heart of Hackney. With its instantly-recognisable gold ceiling, it’s been a necessary pit-stop for most breakout stars in recent memory including none other than @ladygaga herself. Alongside live shows, it’s also a community staple, hosting bingo nights, cabaret, karaoke, interactive film screenings and stand-up comedy. What you may not know is that the Memorable Order of Tin Hats (MOTH) was actually established in South Africa in 1927. The Hackney headquarters opened in 1972, later evolving into the legendary bar and venue we know today. Two planning applications have put MOTH Club’s future at risk.
