Hello! Unfortunately, my concerts this Fall have been postponed. I’m very sorry for the change; it’s not a decision I take lightly. However, European dates are being rescheduled for 2025, and I’m happy to confirm that the LA show with @earthseattle @ @laraaji_official is now set for January 24, 2025. It means a lot me to see your overwhelming response to the show, and I’m looking forward big time to next year when we can get at it again! Hope to see you then, xod

TOUR LOVE The work of Again² dates back to last October at @rueboyer where @natesalon and I did the first Again rebuilds. It took @freekatet and I most of the winter to figure out how to present the show. We approached miniaturization the same way a spartan arrangement lends itself to a impactful mix. Building on top of @naetboyce incredible Rebuilds videos, we took the idea of generic EDM concert rigging and fx to create something super personal. A liquid flow of abstract “set pieces” emerged. Mini puppets were cast in silicone and controlled by wires, rods and servos. Our “main character” exists as 4 little bodies with swappable heads that seem to add up to a psychic whole. Every tiny sharpie was real. A mini “noise table” was clad in 3D printed replicas of gear I likely would have coveted had I taken a different path back in the day. We scored it by pulling from 15+ years of opn discography, taking old sounds and applying them to new tracks and vice versa. Freeka experimented on the fly with illusionistic layers of live camera work, video projection, fog and lighting on tiny and full-size scales. It’s a world of unconscious images that express themselves as music and the other way around... None of this is possible without a big collective effort and I’m super grateful to @freekatet @naetboyce @natesalon @p_op_e , Alex P and everyone at @electronic_music_company for going so hard on this. The new archive page created by @voidmain_ for pointnever.com is designed to show the depth of themes and connections across all of the opn releases to-date. The concept is based on an intricately detailed flowchart that was anonymously posted by a fan circa 2014. That fan’s perspective was crucial to building this page. Subsequently, it inspired the idea to interview the opn Discord community to enhance, elaborate and update the flow chart so that it could be presented as both an official living discography and a co-creative art project for and by opn community. Thank you for all who participated and we hope you enjoy.

MUSIC FROM THE SHOWTIME ORIGINAL SERIES, “THE CURSE”. WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY JOHN MEDESKI and EXECUTIVE PRODUCED BY DANIEL LOPATIN. AVAILABLE NOVEMBER 17, LEAD SINGLE “FAKE TEARS” OUT TODAY. Inspired by the spiritual jazz music of Alice Coltrane, Daniel Lopatin enlisted one of his personal musical heroes @johnmedeski to compose and perform the series’ original score, trusting the modern jazz virtuoso to bring to life the depth of sound inherent throughout Coltrane’s work. A frequent collaborator to the Safdie brothers, Lopatin, meanwhile, was tasked with overseeing the series’ music as executive producer, working alongside producer, composer and engineer Randall Dunn on the recording and mixing side. Of the score, executive producer DANIEL LOPATIN says, “Benny brought Alice's tape from 1982 ‘Turiya Sings’ to my attention as a real central influence over the score. There was a very short list of composers I felt were akin, or could carry on some level, Alice's skill and soulfulness with them into their own score. John was one of them. John breathes presence into music. His ability to improvise and speak through his instrument, and specifically the organ – is part of his greatness. His transcendent understanding of spacious, open music, combined with a virtuosic attack of the keyboard in the fields of jazz and blues, not to mention his twisted sense of humor, felt exactly right for the series.” The Curse stars Oscar winner Emma Stone, Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie. @a24 @bowedtie
