This year has tested me in ways I never imagined. It has been relentless, overwhelming, and filled with losses so profound that words could never fully capture them. There’s no sugarcoating it this year has shaken me to my core and forced me to face pain I wasn’t prepared for. And yet, here I am. Still breathing. Still moving forward, even when it feels like the weight is too much to bear.💔 Carrying on after such a year doesn’t mean pretending everything is ok. It doesn’t mean the pain is gone or the loss is any less real. It means finding the courage to keep going, even on the days when getting up feels like the hardest thing I’ll ever do. It means choosing to believe that even in the darkness, there’s still purpose, still hope, still something worth holding onto. I don’t always feel strong. Some days, I feel anything but. But strength isn’t about being unshaken , it’s about showing up, no matter how broken I feel. And through it all, I know I’m not alone. God goes before me. He walks beside me. He carries me when I can’t carry myself. I don’t have all the answers. I don’t have it all figured out. But I’m still here. I’m still fighting. I’m still hoping that one day, the sun will break through the clouds, and I’ll feel the warmth again. Grief may always be part of my story, but it won’t define my future. This year has been cruel harsh unforgiving, but I refuse to let it break me. I will take it one step, one breath, one moment at a time. I’ll trust that, even when I can’t see it, God is guiding me. And though the road ahead may not be easy, I believe there will be light, there will be peace, and there will be joy again. At Errol Douglas London Salon @erroldouglasldn training and motivation are at the heart of what we do. It’s incredibly important to me that we inspire the next generation of future hair professionals in all aspects of hairdressing. A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of taking Daisy Havens @daisyhairmua to assist me backstage at one of the most prestigious events in the British hairdressing calendar, The British Hairdressing Awards. Daisy has only been with us for three months, so this was a huge opportunity, and quite literally being thrown in at the deep end! This year, I had just one model to prepare, showcasing a look from my upcoming 2025 collection, Royal Muse. While it might seem like fewer models would mean less stress, backstage at such an event is always incredibly hectic. From ensuring the model’s hair prep is flawless, coordinating with makeup, managing wardrobe, rehearsing stage movements, and keeping everything on schedule, there’s a lot to juggle. I’m thrilled to share that Daisy exceeded all expectations. She was calm, focused, and completely took everything in stride. Her professionalism and ability to adapt to such a high-pressure environment was remarkable, especially for someone so early in their career.
