September 1979. Like seeing a man from the future appear on stage, playing with electronic looping and whatever else, making sense of it all so effortlessly. It's #caturday , which means time to celebrate all that's so special about our furry feline overlord friends. Featured here is the unmistakable bass playing of Bernard Edwards (RIP) who along with @nilerodgers created some of the most iconic songs and melodies of the last half-century. Gone too soon, but never forgotten. Really had such a lovely time playing at @xanadu.nyc this past Saturday, sharing the decks with @rissancr and @dee.diggs ❤️ The skate session was a truly great experience, I only wish we could have made it go on for a while longer, like 12 hours maybe?... or something a bit more reasonable! Because there were so many jams I wanted to play and couldn't get to.... but I guess that's how it should be, leaving us wanting more? What a great venue, fantastic wood floor and skaters with an amazing energy who just got me amped up and inspired playing soulful jams. Massive thanks to all who made it there, including DJ Big Bob, @bennysoto, @dannytenagliaofficial and to everyone for the good vibes.
