Greg wanted the atmosphere of the city around them to be a character in the spot as well. And we thought revealing that with these extreme zooms would show that in a way not often used. It wasn’t easy getting this 70 pound zoom adapted to an Arri cam LT. But thanks to @camerasamurai and a couple tips from @dan.muchnik it was figured out. • • 4 perf 35mm 250D 5207 process normal. Fujinon 8.4-900mm zoom with an image expander. And an internal doubler. You do the math are the other two variables of focal lengths. I recently took the @fujinonlenses Duvo 24-300mm lens to Botswana to gather some documentary footage, and it proved to be a wonderful companion for capturing wildlife. Welcome to a tour of a broadcast camera. (#REPOST @thesailingcameraman) This is a Grass Valley LDX82 which is one of the industry standard broadcast cameras. On the right pan bar we have the zoom demand, operated with the users thumb you press to the right to zoom in and left to zoom out. Operators can also open comms with the truck on the white button with either engineering or the director. On the left we have the focus demand, you can turn the wheel to change focus in or out. It’s hotly debated what way around these controls go but in reality it makes no difference and it’s just whatever feels natural to the user On top we have the viewfinder and on the back of the camera we have various BNC outputs, two XLR microphone inputs and a headset output for comms. The big red cable is the camera power, video, sound and comms link over fiber.
