My voice, my vote 🗣️🗳️ To mark Women’s Equality Day and 104 years since the adoption of the 19th Amendment, motion designer @lilyhaselton created this series of GIFs celebrating “solidarity, sisterhood, and empowerment.” Throughout her collection, Lily pays tribute to the women’s suffrage movement, incorporating symbols such as the bluebird and the colors green, purple, and gold. “Reading about this movement has helped me to look back on all the progress we’ve made for women’s equality since that historic day in 1920 and to remember that we, as women and as human beings, have voices that deserve to be heard. We cannot forget that many women of color were still not allowed to vote until as late as 1962! Disabled isn’t a dirty word. In recognition of Disability Independence Day here is a new collection of GIFs created by artist Eva Camille, who discovered in 2013 she had a mysterious condition that causes spontaneous, dangerous muscle breakdown. Since then, she’s been on a diagnostic odyssey that has produced more questions than answers. “In this collection, I focused on joy, the realities of the disabled experience, and memorializing the legacy of activist Judy Heumann, who fought tirelessly for bills like the ADA. The ADA was landmark legislation that provides vital protections for disabled people – but there is still work to be done. We can all carry on Heumann’s work to change the world – call your representative to support bill H.R. 7055 to help bring marriage equality to disabled people.” — @brujahahahaha

we’re shrimply excited for @8itapp AQUAFEST this monday!!! 🦐🦐🦐 these fishy GIFs were created by @lorrainenam, an illustrator based in Brooklyn. Born in Philadelphia and Nam spent their childhood drawing pictures and folding origami to pass the time. Now she combines those two loves to create illustrations. majority of these GIFs are painted and cut out on paper, and then scanned in and manipulated digitally to make the movement or add accents.
