Throwback to Rouges futurs site specific performance for Soirée Lunaire of @fondationcarmignac on July 27th, curated by @kevinlsqr Dressed in red, two presences inhabit the spaces. At the heart of the exhibition, a biker wanders, contemplates, rests and poses. In the gardens, fragmenting the space with her codified gestures, a fencer prepares for combat. Gradually, an ordeal unfolds through a mirror of water, replaying the mythical relationship of the sailor attracted by the mermaid. In this inverted face-off, movement becomes a cryptogram, to be imitated or deciphered. In a performance designed specifically for the architecture of the foundation, Anna Chirescu and Grégoire Schaller shape an encounter that plays with temporality, blending immemorial time with anticipation of the future. As a visual artist and choreographer, @gschllr develops transdisciplinary projects that challenge body norms, power dynamics, and dominant narratives. During his residency in Marfa with @villa.albertine, he is conducting research on the deconstruction of the archetypal Euro-American cowboy figure. 𝙉𝙤 𝘾𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙊𝙡𝙙 𝙁𝙖𝙜 is a two-part performance: the first part will be presented at @ballroommarfa, with the second part taking place at @maintenantmarfa during the closing reception of the Villa Albertine residency program. mata! est un projet de recherche et de création transdisciplinaire autour de la figure du matador, porté par Darius Dolatyari-Dolatdoust et Grégoire Schaller, qui articule enquête de terrain, création chorégraphique et conception de costumes. La recherche s'appuie sur la codification des gestes et des postures nécessaires au torero pour accomplir la dramaturgie de la mise à mort lors de la corrida. Envisagés pour eux-mêmes, ces mouvement y sont dénués de toute finalité de violence sur l'animal. Nous les considérons comme un patrimoine chorégraphique riche, dont la survie dépend de nos capacités à en déplacer les enjeux comme les contextes de réalisation et de représentation, afin de l'inscrire au sein de nouveaux imaginaires. La culture taurine cristallise aujourd'hui des enjeux fondamentaux au croisement de la sensibilité animale et des formes de représentation de la masculinité. Que serait une corrida sans mise à mort du taureau ?
